Four new designers to debut as 'Gen Next'at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020

Mumbai, 13^th December 2019: Lakmé Fashion Week announces the 29^th batch of one of its most coveted talent discovery programs - Gen Next. The four selected designers will be presenting their creations at the upcoming Summer/Resort ‘20 edition scheduled to be hosted between 12^th to 16^th February 2020.

The programme this season, received over 300 applications by aspiring designers from across the country. The 4 winners were handpicked by an esteemed jury that comprised the likes of Amit Aggarwal, Tina Tahiliani and Gen Next mentor Sabina Chopra among other industry experts.

Since its inception, the Gen Next mentorship programme has been celebrated for identifying new talent, providing young designers with a nurturing platform and turning them into formidable stars. In the past, the program has been credited with introducing talent some of the most well-known names in the industry like Kallol Dutta, Rahul Mishra, Ruchika Sachdeva, Nachiket Barve, Masaba Gupta and many more.

Announcing the latest batch of Gen Next designers, Ashwath Swaminathan, Head of Innovations, Lakmé said, “Discovering talent is one of the most critical pillars of Lakmé Fashion Week. The Gen Next program is a testament to the platform's commitment towards identifying, nurturing and promoting young designers who will define the face of tomorrow's fashion. We look forward to seeing the 29^th batch showcase their creations on the runway this season.”

Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort to take place at Jio Garden BKC from February 12th to 16th

Mumbai, 10th December 2019: Lakmé Fashion Week is set to once again enthral the world of fashion and beauty with its Summer/Resort 2020 edition. The five-day fashion extravaganza is scheduled between 12^th to 16^th February 2020 at JioWorld Garden, BKC, Mumbai. Paying tribute to its 20 year anniversary, Lakmé Fashion Week will have a celebration of curated experiences and special events under this LFW 2.0 edition

Over the years, Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) has grown from strength to strength with every season. From 33 designers in 2000 to now featuring over 200 labels, the bi-annual fashion celebration is also the most digitally followed fashion platform in the world. Ever since its inception, LFW has been instrumental in revolutionary initiatives that have known to set trends and raised benchmarks in the beauty and fashion space. The platform will take the tradition of presenting large-scale fashion showcases at interesting outdoor venues a notch higher, championing sustainability through pathbreaking initiatives while further spreading messages of inclusivity and diversity.

Lakme fashion Week---Winter/Festive at St regis

The Lakme Fashion Week Gen Next winners have been announced for the Winter/festive season at St. Regis in Mumbai from August 21-25. The Gen Next  platform that introduces young and promising received many applicants and out of those six have been selected by the jury who will be showcasing their debut collections at the fashion week.
Lakme Fashion Week has also been promoting sustainable fashion and has also invited designers in the sustainable fashion category.
Besides they have also collaborated with the Diamond Prodcers Association for The Real Cut season 2 for new talent in the diamond jewellery segment.
